Foundations Christian School, Anoka MN
"Hear O Israel: The Lord our God is one! You shall love the Lord your God with all of your heart, with all of your soul, and with all of your strength. And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, you shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down , and when you rise up." --Deuteronomy 6:4-7
Foundations Christian School takes seriously God's admonishion to teach our children his laws and precepts. We believe that in order for us individually, and as a nation, to continue walking in the blessings which God has bestowed upon us, we must know and follow the principles laid out in God's Word. Deuteronomy chapter six commands us to love God beyond all things, to place His commands in our heart and to diligently teach them to our children, Deuteronomy chapter six goes on to say, after God has blessed us with "large and beautiful cities," and "have eaten and are full," to "beware lest you forget the Lord."
Our purpose is to help reconcile our community to Christ by restoring a biblical view of God, man and government. We acknowledge that true liberty only comes as an individual or nation lives in accord with those "self-evident" truths referred to in our Declaration of Independence and defined in God's Word.
We have adopted the Principle Approach ® to education, an educational model practiced by our founding fathers, and shown to be highly effective today in developing Christian character, instilling a Christian worldview and achieving academic excellence in our students.
All subjects are taught including reading, writing, comprehension, math, history, geography, literature, sciences, fine arts, and Bible. Students develop significant reasoning and academic skills as they grow physically, spiritually, mentally, and emotionally preparing for their best future and purpose. Teachers use their talents and experience to guide, mentor, and teach students through the rigorous curriculum and exciting learning journey.
We have been blessed by the use of GraceLife Church in Anoka, where we currently have six classrooms available for our use; a large room (60' x 40') appropriate for chapel, music or drama presentations; a sanctunasium which can be used for gym class or athletics, as well as, drama or music presentations and a full kitchen. We are also in the process of adding a playground behind the church.
